Through the years, vaping has become a popular alternative to cigarettes. It has become a popular alternative since most people believe that it’s “healthier” rather than smoking a cigarette. So this is why vaping is winning over many smokers and ex-smokers alike. The thing is that e-cigarettes or vapes were practically designed with ex-smokers in mind. Their purpose was to deliver inhaled nicotine, just like cigarettes, but without the tobacco and those “nasty” chemicals.
Vaping itself is just the act of inhaling vapor from an e-cigarette or any other vaping device, which is typically battery-powered and has a cartridge filled with a flavored liquid. Now, these liquids do contain nicotine, and when activated, the vape turns this liquid (or e-liquid as it’s most commonly referred to) into a vapor that can be inhaled.
There are reasons why most people prefer vaping to actual cigarettes, and these are because it doesn’t smell as bad as cigarettes, it’s compact, and you don’t have to dispose of it every so often. Plus, you can control the level of nicotine that you do smoke regularly. Although, obviously it’s still so important to do your research about these kinds of things because it’s still your health that we’re talking about, right? So it’s always best to take these things with a grain of salt.
If you’ve been trying to vape for quite some time now, but you still can’t get the hang of it, then try the following step-by-step process to make sure that you’re doing it right:
- When it comes to vape, you need to learn how to take a long and slow draw, and you need to allow time in between hits for the device to cool down.
- Before your first draw, you need to warm up your coil by quickly inhaling it into the mouth of the vape. We call this the “primer puff.” It basically allows your coil to warm up to temperature before taking the full heat from the battery.
- As we’ve previously mentioned, take a long and slow draw from your vape instead of a quick and short one, as you’re probably accustomed to in a cigarette. Take the vapor in your mouth, and you need to hold it in for about three to five seconds. Then you can inhale it into your lungs.
When you’re smoking a cigarette, the nicotine usually hits you within the first eight seconds, but with e-cigarettes, the absorption occurs slowly, and it can take about thirty seconds for you to feel the effects.
