Vape glossary: the beginner’s guide for vaping terms!
- 18650 – This is the most common type of battery used in vaporizers around the world. The number defines the size as 18mm x 65mm.
- Atomizer – The atomizer houses the coil. Some atomizers are sealed while others allow for custom coil creation.
- Box Mod – A box mod is a vaporizer that’s shaped like a box. They usually hold multiple batteries and are much more powerful than pod vaporizers or pen vapes.
- Coil – The coil is the part of the atomizer that heats the liquid and turns it into a vapor.
- E-cigarettes – E-cigarettes or e-cigs are electronic cigarettes or vaporizers.
- E-Juice – E-juice, e-liquid, vape juice, vape liquid, and vaping juice are all different terms for the liquid inside the vaporizer. It can contain nicotine or be nicotine free. There are also CBD vape liquids which contain cannabidiol (CBD).
- Flooding – This is when you ‘flood’ your coil with too much e-liquid. It prevents the vaporizer from functioning correctly.
- RDA – This is an abbreviation for Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer.
- RTA – This is an acronym that stands for Rebuildable Tank Atomizer.
- Tank – The tank holds the atomizer or coil and also contains your liquid. There are a variety of different size tanks. Some tanks are refillable while others are disposable and must be thrown away once they’re empty.
