Are you interested in learning more about the e-juice or vape juice that you’re using in your vaporizer? Then you have come to the right place!

There have been plenty of bad news stories regarding the vape juice or e-liquid that vapers use in their vaporizers. Unfortunately, many of them are factually incorrect or completely blown out of proportion. With hype coming from both sides of the story, how do you know if you’re choosing a suitable vape liquid or a bad one?

In all e-liquids, there are a variety of different ingredients, all different quality, but most of them share the same four or five ingredients. E-liquid can be broken down into vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG), nicotine, flavor, and water.

VG is responsible for the vapor that vaping produces. It’s a thick and sweet liquid that doesn’t carry flavor well by itself. PG is a flavorless liquid that isn’t thick and is responsible for the ‘throat hit’ that many vapers enjoy because it closely resembles the feeling of smoking. By themselves, both PG and VG aren’t great as 100% e-liquids but mixed together, and you get the best of both ingredients.

You’ll generally see VG and PG displayed on your e-liquid as a VG/PG ratio. The most common ratios of VG/PG are 50/50 or 70/30. The higher the VG, the more vapor you will produce, but the harder it will be to vape in smaller devices as the thick liquid quickly blocks atomizers.

When you first start vaping, you want to choose an e-liquid that’s closer to 50/50 with a high nicotine level. Once you have started to transition away from smoking to vaping, you can increase the amount of VG in your vape liquid while at the same time decreasing nicotine.
